Good news! Our home study report has finally been approved and I’m expecting to get the notarized copies tomorrow. CAS will mail one to our adoption agency to add to our dossier and one will go off to USCIS for our immigration approval called I-800a. Of course, we filled out our Immigration paperwork weeks ago and every time I look at it, I see dust settling. It’s hard not to want to move this process along, but realize more and more every day we are totally not in control. I am so thankful that we have these two amazing little girls in our lives that keep us busy from the time we wake up until the time they go to bed at night.
Libby has started praying for her little sister that is somewhere halfway around the world from her. She says, “Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that you are watching over our baby in China and that you get her to us fast.” It’s a part of our nightly routine these days.
It’s hard to imagine that by next summer we could potentially have one more at the dinner table, one more at the pool, one more in the car, and one more to tuck in at night. To those people who have asked me, “How are you doing this?” and “Why do you want to do this?” I say to them, “How could we NOT do this?” There are children in our world without a mother or a father, without knowing what love is or what a warm hug feels like. How can we see their faces and not want to do something about it? When you hear the stories of these children and babies laying in cribs all day without their cries being answered, it can literally feel like someone is taking the air out of your lungs. So that’s why we are doing this. Once your eyes are opened to this orphan crisis, it’s impossible to turn away. Impossible for us.
This is me filling out our Immigration papers. I don’t think the wait time is too long on this. I think they’ll send us the approval pretty quickly and then we can send it in to start the sealing process. It’s our last document for our dossier. Woohoo!
