This morning at 9:15, Josh and I went to Christian Adoption Services and met with our case manager, Dora Parks. What a sweet and kind little southern woman she was. We have been told how lucky we are to have gotten paired with her. She makes the process as easy as possible. All together, we will need four home studies completed by Dora. The first one was today, in her office at CAS. It lasted about an hour and a half and she basically went over all of our forms that we had already turned in. Financial data, background checks, immunization records, etc. We’ve set up the next three home study appointments and will have them all completed by June 1st. The next home study is just with Josh and Dora. She’ll interview him based on his “Autobiography” that he wrote (or I actually wrote it for him!) The third home study will just be myself with Dora and the fourth one, she will come to the house to talk to the girls and walk through our home. I heard they check for things like ladders off of the second story windows in case of fire! Better get on that.
